Sleeping pillows made of pure natural materials
Pillows made of natural materials for better health
Finding the right natural pillow for ergonomic sleep and waking up even more refreshed the next morning. Our pillows are made of natural materials, giving you the feeling of sleeping on a cloud.
For the production of our natural sleeping pillows we use only pure, stringently pollutant-controlled natural materials, mainly from controlled organic cultivation. Only in this way our pillows guarantee an excellent climate regulation and prevent static charging.
Furthermore, our pillows are covered exclusively with 100% natural cotton from controlled organic cultivation. This prevents the evaporation of hazardous chemical substances. After all, a person directly breathes in the surrounding air during a period of 6 – 8 hours every night. In this context, safety is provided by recognized, strict pollutant control seals.

Production in our in-house manufactory
Our dormiente pillows made of natural materials are handcrafted in our own factory in Heuchelheim in central Hesse. For over 35 years, dormiente has been manufacturing 100% natural sleeping pillows from valuable natural fibers, such as natural latex and Swiss pine flakes. These pillows are tailored to meet strict sustainability and high quality requirements to ensure healthy sleep.
Generally speaking, we distinguish between two types of pillows: The loose filled pillow and the shaped pillow
The question of whether to choose a loose filled pillow or a shaped pillow is often a matter of personal need and preference. Nevertheless, the right choice of pillow is a decisive point for healthy sleep and is often underestimated. In addition to the orthopedic aspects of the correct cervical spine position, there are also factors such as a cuddly feeling or climate regulation. From an orthopedic point of view, a pillow should accommodate the head and depict the cervical spine in the most natural way possible. However, since the neck area is a fairly small, limited area, positioning the head well is often difficult and personal preferences are often counterproductive (e.g. ” I want my head to lay high”). In addition, it is important to determine your actual predominant sleeping position. Tension in the neck and shoulder area in the morning can be an indication of incorrect head positioning, which may have been caused by an incorrect pillow.
natural loose filled pillow
Loose filled pillows allow you to adjust the filling material, e.g. latex- or Swiss pine flakes, to your individual needs by removing the filling material until the correct amount is well distributed. In this way, your head will get supported in the best way possible.
Shaped Pillows
Natural shaped pillows are neck pillows that are made from one “cast” and can hardly be reshaped. Therefore, when choosing a pillow to buy, a good fit should be ensured from the very beginning. Basically, this type of neck pillow should be made of very elastic material, e.g. 100% natural latex, like the dormiente shaped pillows. On the other hand, pillows that are not very elastic, e.g. made of cold foam, are usually not well suited.
Orthopedically correct lying means that the spine forms a straight line in the lateral position.
If you are sleeping in the BOWL POSITION, your neck pillow should not be thick but rather thin, so that you do not overextend your cervical spine and thus make life difficult for the intervertebral discs there.
In the SIDE POSITION, the distance between the resting head and shoulder must be bridged by the neck support pillow in order to avoid overextension here as well.
In the BACK POSITION , again, a rather flat sleeping pillow is usually advisable from an orthopedic point of view.
