Uncompromising naturalness and sustainable resource preservation are the top priorities for the latest design beds. The dormiente beds of the Veteris line, made out of reclaimed matured wood are stylish design objects for individualists and bring their own history: The hand-hewn historic wood is given an unprecedented rustic character by its long history. It has withstood all weather conditions and comes from old half-timbered houses, farms, mountain huts and inns from the Bavarian or Austrian Alpine and pre-Alpine regions. More than a hundred years ago, it was professionally processed with axe and hatchet, and over the decades, wind and weather has given it an individual complexion: partly sunburnt, very individual and unmistakably characteristic.
The further processing for the dormiente beds of the VETERIS series is extremely complex: The reclaimed matured wood is dried at high temperatures in the drying chamber and extensively cleaned to free it from possible pests. The old wood is then brushed and, as was done 100 years ago, given a traditional final treatment with pure curd soap.

The entire manufacturing process from raw material to the finished bed is much more elaborate than the use of new furniture wood, but the loving and time-consuming work is worth it: due to its unique characteristic appearance, the bed becomes a unique piece with an individual touch and invigorates any room with its unusual texture: partly irregular and in any case unique, stylish and rustic at the same time.
The new dormiente reclaimed matured wood models are the opposite of industrial mass production: This is also evidenced by the metal-free, traditionally tapped corner joints, which are witnesses to traditional craftsmanship and give the bed a unique stability.
But there is more: old wood is combined here with the valuable high alpine swiss pine, which is said to have sleep-inducing properties. The combination is unique and unprecedented.
